LUMINARY UPDATE: TO LIGHT OR NOT TO LIGHT?

Dear Friends,

According to all weather forecasts, 12/24 we may see heavy rains and winds.

Talk to neighbors, use your best judgment, and, if conditions don't seem agreeable, we'll aim for 12/25 lighting.

No matter when they are lit, our neighborhood will certainly reflect the DECA shine!

(Our volunteer will still light luminaries for confirmed neighbors)

Please spread the word to our friends who may not have email access!

Lost dog--please read!!

Yesterday after school I found a dog wandering in the rain at the corner of Malin Rd and 401.  He was almost hit by cars a few times as he darted out into the road.  He had a harness, but no collar.  I took him to the vet and he had no microchip.  Eventually I had to have the police take him to the SPCA.  I just called and no one has claimed him.

He is a male Husky, probably about 6 months old.  Would you mind sharing with your neighbors and thinking about whether you know anyone who he might belong to?  The SPCA waits 48 hours for the owner to claim him before he can be adopted.  The SPCA’s number is 610-692-6113 ext. 219.

Start The New Year Off Right!!!
We are hosting a causal get together with friends and neighbors at the Levin's house, located at 3 Kane Dr. in Malvern.
Join us for wine and snacks and learn how to be your healthiest in the New Year!

CORRECTION to DECA Luminary News in your Mailboxes!!!!!

Correction to the DECA Luminary Mail which you received in your mailboxes.

1. No dues are to be collected this year as we have enough in the treasury to cover all costs for luminaries and events in 2015.

2. Please contact me if you are unable to assemble your luminaries--Kristen Klugh Cannella and leave a voicemail with your name and address and I’ll be sure you get your items.  (610-993-3374)

3. Items for luminaries will be somewhat pre-bundled to make collection of what you need easy peasy on 12/13 and 12/14.

4. Finally, I have enjoyed serving as President for the many neighbors who have continued to seek fellowship and community celebration.  For those of you looking to have this opportunity, all treasury funds, guidelines, and documentation can be easily transferred early in 2015.  Please let me know.

Safe and happy holidays to all!

Peace-Kristen

DECA News for Year End!

Our Luminaria display on 12/24 is the envy of nearby neighborhoods!  Thank you for continuing this tradition again this year!

SAVE THE DATE: to assemble your bags
When: 12/13 and 12/14
Time: Your convenience 10AM-4PM
Where: Cul de sac at 29 Winding Way near the entrance to the hiking trail

In years past, neighborhood reps have assembled bags; however, due to lack of availability, it is up to folks to come and grab kits for your home (and, if you want to volunteer to help out neighbors who can’t make it, you are welcome to.)  Everything will be clearly marked for your convenience.

CONTEST: GUESS HOW MANY BAGS/CANDLES WE WILL USE THIS YEAR AND SEND TO KRISTENKLUGHCANNELLA@GMAIL.COM by 12/1/2014.

NO DUES THIS YEAR!

We know the economy is rough and we have all had to watch our purse strings. This year, due to available funds in our DECA account, we will not require dues from our families and friends.  Enjoy!

THE SEASONS CHANGE...

Finally, because of personal obligations combined with waning interest in DECA events and activities. I must humbly report that I will be stepping down at the end of the year as DECA president.  I am hopeful that someone or someones will ‘step into the light’ to serve and even re-boot interest in our wonderful, talented, and caring community.  I will actively participate in any fellowship required—just not as president.

Please let me know if you are interested in this opportunity.

Happiest of Holidays and Good Health and Prosperity in the New Year!
