DECA Fall Fest - Postponed to Sunday

The weather outside for Saturday looks frightful. Since no one really wants to stand in the rain with their neighbors, we will try for Sunday, same time same place.

4 – 7 pm on Old Swedesford in the Hillside neighborhood.

If you could not make it before and can now or if you were planning to attend and cannot now, please let me know.

Thanks,

Karen

A General Wayne family needs your help....

Hello DECA Neighbors,

I wanted to let you know that this year the Save the Day 5k is helping out one of our own General Wayne families. Michael Strieb, husband and father of three, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) in March, 2008. Since Michael’s diagnosis, he has experienced a steady progression of the disease. He is now limited to a wheelchair, needs assistance with everyday activities, and uses a speech assistance device to communicate. Michael and his wife, Christine, live in Malvern with their three children: Sarah (10), Alexander (8), and Elizabeth (2). Sarah and Alexander both attend General Wayne Elementary School.

The race is 9:00 on November 7th, at Sugartown El. School. Please check out the web site and register at:

http://savetheday5k.jimbemis.com/

There is a 1 mile walk/run as well as the 5k.
We are all so lucky that we are able to participate. I hope to see you there!

Thanks!
Lisa Beck

Courtesy Reminders –
  • All pet owners: please keep an eye on your pets. If they are outside without being on a leash or a tie-up, please make sure they remain in your yard.
  • When you walk your pet around the neighborhood, please remember a bag to pick up your pet’s waste. We’ve had some complaints about waste not being picked up. Your neighbors thank you in advance!

Thank you… To all those who helped make the DECA picnic a great success:
Mrs. Bushnell – power supply
Becks – beer and music
Bevecs, Meehans, Huestons, Browns – set-up, cooking, clean-up
Chris Brown – tie dye, talent show, arranging the porta-potty
Rita Stern – face painting and crafts
Events like this are possible because of the time and talent of neighbors. Looking to get involved? Let us know…new ideas and help are always welcome!!

Thank you… from the family of Evelyn Hewitt for the donation DECA sent to Paoli Pulmonary Rehab in memory of their mother. She was a forty-six year resident of our neighborhood.

Have a happy and safe Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Your DECA Board,
Karen Bevec -- President
Chris Brown – Treasurer
Maria Hueston -- Secretary
