As our summer draws to an end...
As our summer draws to an end, I finally have a few moments to reflect on the summers activities. I hope that everyone that attended the Summer Picnic enjoyed themselves as much as me and my family. I would like to thank everyone that pitched to make the event a success. The Beck’s Brew and DECA”s got talent were fine additions to the festivities.
I would like to express my gratitude to the DECA brewer, Adam Beck, and his family for their help. My thanks also goes out to the Brown’s, and the Hueston’s for all of their help in organizing, setting up, cooking and cleaning up the park. Thanks also to the Hall’s, Spiker’s, and Bill Mullarkey for donating tables, tents, nets, etc…

Turtle found near Hillside Drive...
I found a box turtle in our backyard this morning. The turtle has a chip out of his shell over his right shoulder and some pink paint (nail polish?) on his shell. Can you send out an email to the DECA neighborhood asking if anyone has lost their turtle? Thanks.

Representatives from O’Neill Properties Group will host a Town Hall meeting for Great Valley School District and East Whiteland Township residents to describe their Tax Increment Financing (TIF) request for Uptown Worthington, the mixed use project in development at the former Worthington Steel Factory at Route 202 and Route 29 in East Whiteland Township.
This meeting is open to the Public and will be held on July 8th at 7:00 P.M. in the Penn State Great Valley Auditorium, located at 30 East Swedesford Road. Following the presentation and Q&A session, there will be a walking tour of Uptown Worthington from 8:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

When it opens in Fall 2009, Uptown Worthington will transform the former Worthington Steel Factory into a 100-acre live, work, and play community. Uptown Worthington will house a mix of uses, including retail, office, hotel, and residential, in a completely underserved area to provide a traditional town experience. The original notice was found via the GVSD website. Please RSVP to Erin Avon at 610-239-6112 or email: eavon@oneillproperties.com
Also, for those of you who haven't seen it. I am including a link to the Uptown Worthington website. http://www.worthingtonmalvern.com/ It includes a planning map and an aerial map of the area on the press page.
